Reflection~ For my first year of college so far it has been great. As all things when you first start them you are always a little apprehensive. During my last trimester in high school I took an intro to Las Positas class it made me feel more comfortable getting to know the area before coming here full time. This class I have already learned so much. Essays are not really my favorite, but I feel like taking this class I have improved my writing skills, having a better understanding on how to organize everything. Maybe it is because, learning in college you know that it is going towards your future career, so you concentrate that much more. In high school I had taken American Sign Language and knew I had enjoyed learning all the different signs to be able to communicate this universal language for the deaf. I decided to take it during college to hopefully increase my vocabulary to the point that I can have a conversation. I want to continue learning and hopefully be able to use it for my career in the medical field. My goal~ My first goal is to start and finish my general ed classes here at Las Positas. I chose Las Positas to start my college journey for it is close to home and I do not have to spend so much time going back and forth. I’m still close to my family which is important to me. After I finish my general ed classes I will transfer to Foothill college in Los Altos where I will sign up for the program Diagnostic Medical Sonography. To get my Associates in Science degree. This will give me the academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound. I wish to specialize in imaging to track a baby’s health and growth inside the mother.
